Hope for the Best, Prepare for the Worst
The seasons are changing and most of you are in the midst of preparing your home and yard for fall and winter. While landscaping and weather stripping, also think about making a plan for any natural disaster such as hurricanes, flooding or a fire. According to a new infographic from HouseLogic, homeowners should use the opportunity of the changing seasons to check smoke detectors, create emergency preparedness kits and evacuation plans, reinforce garage doors to make sure homes are stable and safe, and visually document all of your belongings inside and out. Additionally, keep the current inventory, insurance paperwork and other personal documents in a fire and water-proof safe.
